Alla Prima

Finally, here are some alla prima studies. Each were painted in a 3 hour session and they are in no particular order. I've only started painting for reals since the beginning of a March during our weekly AP session, so hopefully there is a gradual improvement from here on. Also, if anyone has any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Sorry

Hi everybody,

I apologize for the absence of new work and posts. It's been more than hectic here at the atelier. I'll post some new work as soon as I have the OK to do so. Top secret school work in production. Anticipate greatly.

DIE ALIEN SCUM!

Some crappy sketches from the moleskine. Can't help but throw some filtery crap on there as well to make them more "space-like".

Intergalactic Render Whore

If this isn't a testament for not knowing when to stop painting on something awful, I don't know what is...

Hopefully I'll learn my lesson through embarrassment by posting it on this blog.

Blah! Blah!

Two of the thumbnails from the previous post taken a bit further. Thanks Tom for your helpful advice.

Practice, practice

Some environmental thumbnails for a change. I can imagine I'll be posting many more in the next while, along with some fully rendered ones.

Here's a mango! Still life during a break from the regular chaos.

Acrylic Apocalypse

Here's my first attempt at some acrylics. Went out yesterday and spent a hunk of cash on enough to keep me going until next pay when I'll go out and buy a set of oils as well. The painting is just some random fun in my sketchbook, mostly inspired by the insane techniques and skills of Sir Nicolas Kline.

Also, I'm hoping to finish up some digital work and post it soon. I've been plugging away on that Pistonhead painting in the previous post. It's coming along nicely, but sure-as-hell slowly.

Short, but tall

Here's another colour study. I might actually make this into a full-fledged painting, instead of that atrocity that was pictured in the last post.

Colour Schmuller

A colour study of Pistonhead. Plenty of glaring anatomy and perspective issues - things to be fixed in the final, if I make paint one.

Kitty likes catfood

Something random.

Large and spacious w/ 3 car garage and indoor pool- Pistonhead continues.

Here are a couple of ~30 second Pistonhead thumbnails I sketched out during breakfast and a quick sketch of Pistonhead with some curved blades instead of hands. Just feeling out some ideas whenever I have the time, which is literally never. I wish days were 8 hours longer and caffeine could be consumed intravenously.

Zbrushapalooza

Here's my first stab using ZBrush and the first 3D creation in over 6 years. Feels good to mold some polys.

Bum Scum

Here's another Pistonhead drawing I did in my sketchbook tonight/this morning. I rendered the hell out of it, unfortunately. Pistonhead is a character I'll be further refining over then next little while until I'm happy with the design, then I'll paint him up and maybe even go as far as modeling him in 3D if I can find the time.

Creature Crap #756-492783

Here are some sketches from the ol' moleskine. I'm not sure what this shit is. Your guess is as good as mine.

Blog Noob

Yeah... yeah. First post in my first blog. I'm not sure if I should celebrate or break down in tears considering it's taken me this long to start something like this. This blog is where I'll be updating the vast world that is the Innanet with my current artistic abominations, and any news that might be of interest, until I can find the time to reconstruct my eyesore of a website. Bon Appetit.
